Afsluitpunt is a term used in utility networks to describe the boundary point where the public or network operator’s infrastructure ends and the private installation of a customer begins. It is typically a physical point such as a valve, meter, or a designated connection near the property boundary or inside a building.

In electricity and gas networks, the afsluitpunt marks the division of responsibility between the network operator and the consumer. The operator maintains the network up to and including the afsluitpunt, while the property owner or user is responsible for the installation beyond that point. The afsluitpunt is usually identifiable by metering equipment and a shut-off valve and must remain accessible for maintenance or disconnection.
