Adjunktiivinen is a linguistic term used in Finnish grammar to describe elements that function as adjuncts in sentences. An adjunct is a modifier that provides adverbial information about a predication (such as time, manner, place, or degree) and is not required by the verb’s argument structure. The adjective adjunktiivinen refers to properties of these adjuncts or to categories of expressions that behave as adjuncts within a clause.

In practice, adjunktiivinen appears mainly in academic syntax literature and cross-linguistic studies of modifiers. In everyday Finnish, speakers more often refer to adverbs and adverbial phrases rather than using adjunktiivinen as a label.
