Adiabatós is a term encountered in speculative physics and science fiction to denote a proposed class of hypothetical states or particles defined by an ability to maintain a constant local entropy during adiabatic evolution. In these usages, adiabatos are imagined as weakly interacting with the Standard Model, able to persist in environments where ordinary matter thermalizes, and capable of transporting energy without necessarily increasing the entropy of the surrounding medium.

The concept is largely theoretical and not supported by experimental evidence; it appears mainly in theoretical discussions about unconventional thermodynamic processes, early-universe scenarios, or exotic dark-matter models. Etymology and terminology vary by author; the term combines the adiabatic sense with a plural-sounding ending, and there is no universally accepted definition.

In mainstream physics, adiabatos are regarded as speculative. In fiction, they are often used to explore ideas about entropy, heat transfer, and information transport, serving as a narrative device to examine how unusual thermodynamic behavior might affect cosmology, astrophysics, or technology.
