Accelerointian is a hypothetical elementary particle or field invoked in speculative physics and science fiction to account for rapid or localized acceleration of objects. The name blends acceleration with the suffix -ian, common in naming imagined particles. It is not part of the Standard Model, and there is no experimental evidence for accelerointians.

Origin and scope: In fiction and in speculative essays, accelerointians are described as mediating a propulsion-like interaction that reduces inertial resistance or supplies momentum transfer without conventional propellant.
