Zsírképzés

Zsírképzés, also known as lipogenesis, is the metabolic process by which fatty acid and triglyceride molecules are synthesized from precursor molecules, such as carbohydrates and amino acids. This process primarily occurs in the liver and adipose tissue. Zsírképzés is a vital pathway for energy storage, as excess energy consumed beyond immediate needs is converted into fat.

The synthesis of fatty acids, a key component of zsírképzés, involves a series of enzymatic reactions. Acetyl-CoA is the primary building block, which is generated from the breakdown of glucose through glycolysis and subsequent conversion of pyruvate. Triglyceride synthesis, the storage form of fat, involves the esterification of glycerol with three fatty acids. Glycerol-3-phosphate, derived from glucose metabolism, serves as the backbone. Fatty acids are then sequentially attached to this glycerol backbone, forming a triglyceride molecule. This process is also regulated by various hormones, notably insulin, which promotes zsírképzés, and glucagon, which inhibits it. Zsírképzés is crucial for maintaining energy homeostasis, but dysregulation can contribute to obesity and related metabolic disorders.
