Zsírsszövet

Zsírsszövet, also known as adipose tissue, is a type of connective tissue found throughout the body. Its primary function is to store energy in the form of fat, but it also plays crucial roles in insulation, cushioning organs, and producing hormones. Zsírszövet is composed of cells called adipocytes, which are specialized for lipid storage. These cells are large and spherical, with a single large lipid droplet occupying most of their cytoplasm.

There are two main types of zsírszövet: white adipose tissue and brown adipose tissue. White adipose tissue is the most abundant type and serves as a long-term energy reserve. It also helps to insulate the body and protect organs. Brown adipose tissue, found primarily in infants and hibernating animals, is specialized for thermogenesis, the process of generating heat. It contains more mitochondria than white adipose tissue and is rich in blood vessels.

The amount and distribution of zsírszövet in the body are influenced by factors such as genetics, diet, and physical activity. While a certain amount of zsírszövet is essential for health, excess accumulation can lead to obesity and associated health problems, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
