Zerotrustsikkerhed

Zerotrustsikkerhed, often shortened to zero trust, is a security framework that operates on the principle of "never trust, always verify." This approach fundamentally shifts away from traditional perimeter-based security models, where trust is implicitly granted to users and devices within a network's boundary. Instead, zero trust assumes that threats can exist both inside and outside the network, and therefore, all access requests must be strictly authenticated and authorized, regardless of origin.

The core tenets of zerotrustsikkerhed include verifying every user and device, enforcing least privilege access, and continuously monitoring for suspicious activity. Authentication is typically multi-factor, and authorization is dynamic, based on contextual factors such as user identity, device health, location, and the sensitivity of the resource being accessed. Microsegmentation is another key component, dividing the network into smaller, isolated zones to limit the blast radius of any potential breach. By assuming compromise and rigorously verifying every interaction, zero trust aims to significantly enhance an organization's security posture in an increasingly complex and distributed digital landscape.
