Ysaÿes

Ysaÿes is a surname of Belgian origin, most notably associated with the Belgian violinist, composer, and pedagogue Eugène Ysaÿe (1858–1931). The name is written with a diaeresis over the y in Ysaÿe; in English-language usage the form Ysaÿes may appear, but the standard spelling for the composer is Ysaÿe.

Eugène Ysaÿe was born in Liège and developed into a leading violinist of his era, building an international career as a performer and conductor.
