Yoongi

Min Yoon-gi, known professionally as Suga, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is a member of the boy band BTS, formed by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE Corporation), and has played a central role as a rapper and as a primary contributor to the group's songwriting and production.

Born on March 9, 1993, in Daegu, South Korea, Suga began writing and rapping as a teenager and later joined BTS in 2013. Within the group, he is recognized for his distinctive rap cadence and for shaping BTS’s sound through his lyrics and production work, addressing themes such as self-reflection, mental health, and social issues.

In addition to his work with BTS, Suga has released solo material under the stage name Agust D. His first solo mixtape, Agust D, appeared in 2016, followed by the introspective and widely discussed D-2 in 2020. The D-2 project features the lead track Daechwita, which blends hip hop with elements of Korean traditional music and showcases his storytelling and production skills.

Suga is known for his versatility as a musician, contributing to writing, composing, and producing across BTS’s discography and for other artists. His work is characterized by a direct, candid lyrical style and a willingness to experiment with genre-blending production. Through both BTS and his solo projects, he has achieved international recognition and contributed to BTS’s global influence in contemporary pop and hip hop.
