Yläsäiliöön

Yläsäiliöön is a Finnish term that translates to "cistern" or "header tank" in English. It refers to a type of water storage tank, typically positioned at a higher elevation than the system it serves. This elevated placement utilizes gravity to provide water pressure.

Historically, yläsäiliöön were common in rural areas and older buildings where a reliable water supply and consistent pressure were difficult to achieve otherwise. They are often constructed from materials like concrete, metal, or plastic. The tank collects water, which can come from a well, a public water main, or a rainwater harvesting system.
