Yhynic

Yhynic is a constructed language created for worldbuilding in fantasy and science fiction. In its fictional setting, it is treated as the historical tongue of a continental culture and is featured in novels, games, and other media within that world.

Origins and classification: Yhynic is presented as a single language with several mutually intelligible dialects. In-fiction linguists reconstruct Proto‑Yhynic and describe later splits shaped by contact with neighboring tongues and by regional innovation.

Phonology and script: The Yhynic phonology includes roughly twenty consonants and five vowels, with a mix of stops, fricatives, and a glottal stop. Stress tends to fall on the penultimate syllable. The language uses its own alphabetic script, often called the Yhynic script, written left to right and sometimes employed in inscriptions.
