XMLSyntax

XMLSyntax refers to the set of rules that define how an XML document must be structured and written. These rules ensure that XML documents are readable by both humans and machines. A fundamental aspect of XMLSyntax is the concept of well-formedness.

A well-formed XML document must adhere to several rules. All XML documents must have a single root element. Elements must be properly nested, meaning that an element opened within another must also be closed within that same element.
