XCD

XCD is the ISO 4217 currency code for the East Caribbean dollar, the legal tender of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). The currency is issued by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and is used by eight member territories: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Montserrat. The EC dollar is usually abbreviated as EC$ to distinguish it from the United States dollar, though the ISO code is XCD.

The East Caribbean dollar is pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of 2.7 XCD per 1 USD. The peg is maintained by the ECCB, with exchange reserves and monetary policy aimed at stability within the ECCU.

Notes and coins are issued by the ECCB in various denominations for everyday transactions within the member states. The XCD is considered a fiat currency and is widely used in the ECCU economy.
