Radiation is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves, without the need for a medium. All objects above absolute zero temperature emit thermal radiation. The sun's energy reaches Earth primarily through radiation. This process is also responsible for the warmth felt from a fire or a hot stovetop.

The rate of Wärmeübertrag depends on factors such as the temperature difference, the properties of the materials involved (like thermal conductivity or emissivity), and the geometry of the system. Understanding and controlling Wärmeübertrag is vital in designing efficient heating and cooling systems, power generation, and countless other technological processes.
