Wirtmoleküle, often translated as host molecules, are entities that can bind to other molecules, known as guest molecules. This binding is a crucial aspect of many biological and chemical processes. In biological systems, host molecules are typically proteins, nucleic acids, or cell membranes, and they bind to specific guest molecules such as hormones, neurotransmitters, or drug compounds. This interaction can trigger a cascade of events within the cell or organism, leading to a particular physiological response.
