Wienfluss

The Wienfluss is a small river in Vienna, Austria, serving as a key waterway within the city. Originating as a tributary of the Danube River, the Wienfluss flows through the heart of Vienna, passing by notable landmarks and districts. Its name derives from the Latin *Vindobona*, the ancient Roman name for Vienna, which in turn is linked to the Celtic word *windo*, meaning "white."
