WhileAntaeus
While Antaeus is a figure from Greek mythology, his story is primarily known through Roman retellings and later interpretations. He was a giant, a son of Poseidon, the sea god, and Gaia, the earth goddess. This divine parentage made him incredibly strong, but his strength was intrinsically linked to his mother, the earth. Antaeus resided in Libya, where he challenged all strangers who entered his land to a wrestling match. He was undefeated in these contests, as every time he was thrown to the ground, he would draw renewed strength from his mother, Gaia.
Heracles, the great hero, was tasked with defeating Antaeus. Knowing of the giant's connection to the earth,
