Wertpapieraufträge, also known as securities orders, are instructions given by an investor to a broker to buy or sell a specific security. These orders specify the type of security, the quantity to be traded, and the price at which the trade should be executed. There are various types of Wertpapieraufträge, each with its own characteristics and suitability for different investment strategies.

The most common type is a market order, which instructs the broker to buy or sell immediately at the best available current price. While market orders ensure quick execution, they do not guarantee a specific price, which can be a disadvantage in volatile markets. Limit orders, on the other hand, allow investors to set a maximum price they are willing to pay for a buy order or a minimum price they are willing to accept for a sell order. These orders are only executed if the market reaches the specified price, providing price control but risking non-execution if the price is never met.

Stop orders are another important category. A stop-loss order is placed to sell a security if its price falls to a specified stop price, aiming to limit potential losses. Conversely, a stop-buy order is placed to buy a security if its price rises to a specified stop price, often used to cover a short position or to enter a trade once a certain momentum is confirmed. Stop orders become market orders once the stop price is triggered.

Other types of Wertpapieraufträge include trailing stop orders, which adjust the stop price as the security's price moves favorably, and good-til-cancelled (GTC) orders, which remain active until they are executed or explicitly cancelled by the investor.
