Weinbergschnecke

Weinbergschnecke, scientifically known as Helix pomatia, is a species of large, land-dwelling gastropod mollusc in the family Helicidae. It is native to central and southeastern Europe and has been introduced to various other parts of the world, including Great Britain and North America. The common name "Weinbergschnecke" directly translates to "vineyard snail" in German, reflecting its historical association with vineyards where it was often found and sometimes consumed.

This species is characterized by its large, globular shell, which can reach up to 5 centimeters (2 inches) in diameter. The shell is typically yellowish-brown with faint spiral bands.
