Weenen
Weenen is a town in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It lies in a rural interior region of the province, and is part of the uMgungundlovu District Municipality. The name, meaning "weeping" in Afrikaans, commemorates the Weenen Massacre of February 1838, when Voortrekkers were attacked by Zulu forces along the Bloukrans River. In the aftermath, Voortrekkers established a settlement at the site, and the town’s name reflected the losses suffered.
Today, Weenen serves as an agricultural center in the region, with dairy and cattle farming and forestry
