Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site is a historic park in Washington County, Texas, along the Brazos River near the community of Washington-on-the-Brazos. It is administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and preserves one of the pivotal locations in Texas history.

In March 1836, delegates met at the Convention Grounds here and produced the Texas Declaration of Independence, establishing the Republic of Texas. The event is commonly called the Birthplace of Texas and is a central element of the site's historical narrative.

The site includes the Star of the Republic Museum, which houses artifacts and exhibits related to the era of the Republic (1836–1845); the Barrington Living History Farm, a working 19th-century farm that demonstrates daily life and domestic economy; and preserved grounds that interpret 1830s–1850s life.

Visitation and programs at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site include guided tours, living history programs, school field trips, and special events. The site is open year-round, with hours and offerings varying by season, and the museum and farm operate on corresponding schedules.

The site serves as a major educational resource for Texas history, illustrating the early Republic period and the development toward statehood. It remains a focal point for interpreting the events surrounding Texas independence and the broader 19th-century Texas frontier.
