WSOF

World Series of Fighting (WSOF) was an American mixed martial arts promotion that operated in the 2010s. Based in the United States, it presented a series of pay-per-view and televised events across the country and provided a platform for both established and developing fighters to compete at a national level.

WSOF secured broadcast coverage in the United States on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) and also distributed events through various streaming and cable outlets, helping to raise the profile of several competitors outside the UFC.

The promotion featured championship bouts across multiple weight classes and staged events that included a number of notable veterans and rising talents. While never reaching the mainstream dominance of the UFC, WSOF contributed to the sport by expanding opportunities for fighters and adding to the MMA calendar during the 2010s.

In 2017, the assets of WSOF were acquired by a new organization that rebranded the promotion as the Professional Fighters League (PFL). The PFL launched in 2018 with a season-long tournament format and a finalist championship, representing a new model for MMA competition.
