Værløse

Værløse is a town located in the municipality of Furesø in the northern part of the island of Zealand, Denmark. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers northwest of Copenhagen. Historically, Værløse was a rural village, but it has experienced significant growth and urbanization over the past century, becoming a prominent suburb of Copenhagen.

The town is known for its green spaces and recreational areas, including Furesø lake, which borders the municipality and offers opportunities for swimming, sailing, and walking. The surrounding landscape is characterized by forests and rolling hills. Værløse has a well-developed infrastructure with a train station that provides direct access to Copenhagen, making it a convenient residential area for commuters.

The municipality of Furesø, of which Værløse is a part, was formed in 2007 through the merger of the former Værløse and Farum municipalities. Værløse itself has a local center with shops, services, and cultural facilities. Educational institutions, including schools and a gymnasium, are also present in the town. The area boasts a mix of housing types, from older residential areas to newer developments. Værløse maintains a balance between its suburban character and its connection to the natural environment.
