Vääntökärryt
Vääntökärryt, often translated as torsion carts or torsion axle trailers, are a type of suspension system commonly found on trailers. The core of this system is a solid torsion bar, typically made of rubber or metal, that is housed within a tube. One end of the torsion bar is fixed to the trailer frame, while the other end is connected to an arm that supports a wheel spindle. When a wheel encounters an uneven surface, it moves upwards, causing the torsion bar to twist. This twisting action absorbs the shock and provides a degree of suspension for the trailer and its cargo. The independent movement of each wheel arm allows for a smoother ride compared to a solid axle, especially on rough terrain. Vääntökärryt are known for their simplicity, durability, and low maintenance requirements. They are widely used in various trailer applications, including small utility trailers, boat trailers, and RVs. The design can vary in terms of the type of torsion bar used and the mounting configuration, but the fundamental principle of using a twisting bar for suspension remains the same.
