Vävnadssammansmältning, also known as tissue fusion or adhesion, is a biological process where two or more distinct tissues or tissue surfaces join together. This can occur naturally as part of normal development or healing, or it can be an unwanted consequence of injury or surgical procedures. In normal development, tissue fusion is crucial for the formation of organs and structures. For example, during embryonic development, various tissues must fuse to create complex body parts.

When tissues are damaged, the body initiates a cascade of events involving inflammation, cell proliferation, and matrix deposition to mend the injured area.
