Változatokban

Változatokban is a Hungarian inflected form of the noun változat, meaning variant or version. It represents the plural form in the locative case, indicating a location or context inside the variants. The expression is typically used when discussing different editions, versions, or renditions of something, such as texts, products, or solutions.

Morphology and formation: The base noun is változat. To form the plural, the suffix -ok is added, yielding változatok. To indicate location within these variants, the locative suffix -ban (in) is appended, resulting in változatokban. The choice of -ban rather than -ben follows the Hungarian vowel harmony rule, since the stem’s last vowel is a back vowel (a).

Usage: Változatokban is common in descriptive or comparative contexts. Examples include:

- A történet több változatban maradt fenn. (The story survived in several variants.)

- A szoftver különböző változatokban érhető el. (The software is available in different variants.)
