Viskoplasti

Viskoplasti, sometimes written viskoplastika in certain languages, is a term used in medicine to describe a range of plastic surgical procedures that reshape tissues with viscoelastic properties. The word combines visco- (viscous or pliable) with plast- (reconstruction) and its precise meaning varies by country, specialty, and language. In some settings viskoplasti refers to reconstructive work restoring form and function after injury or disease, while in others it denotes cosmetic contouring of soft tissue.

Indications include post-traumatic deformities, congenital defects, scar revision, and augmentation or reduction of tissue volume on the face, oral cavity, or other soft tissues. Techniques may be open or minimally invasive and often employ autologous grafts, implants, or injectable materials to alter tissue contour and pliability.

Outcomes depend on the procedure, tissue quality, and patient healing. Reported risks include infection, hematoma, nerve injury, scarring, asymmetry, and reactions to implants or fillers. Recovery times vary from several days to several weeks, with transient swelling and numbness common.
