Viillon

Viillon is a fictional town and commune in the eastern valley region of the fictional nation of Elaria. It lies along the Lys River and covers about 14 square kilometers. The population is around 5,000 residents.

The site was settled in the 12th century as a river crossing and market town. Fortifications were built in the late medieval period and later dismantled. In the 19th century, Viillon developed textile and agrarian industries, and after regional reforms in the 20th century it adopted a municipal council system.

The town is surrounded by vineyards and orchards, with rolling hills to the north. The climate is temperate with warm summers. The municipal government consists of a mayor and a council of 12 members elected every four years; Viillon is part of the Valen prefecture and is represented in the regional assembly by two delegates.

Local economy emphasizes agriculture, especially apples and grapes, small-scale manufacturing, and tourism. The historic riverfront hosts markets on weekends and seasonal festivals.

The Church of Saint Marelle, a 15th-century stone bridge, and the windmill at the old harbor are noted sights. The Viillon Autumn Market festival draws visitors from the surrounding countryside. The town maintains a public library and a small theater.

Viillon is connected by regional roads to the capital and nearby towns; the nearest rail station is 12 kilometers away in the town of Lyria. Local buses run daily service to neighboring villages.
