Verwendens

Verwendens is a term that appears in some German-language texts as a nominalized form associated with the act of using something. It is not a common term in modern everyday German; the standard nouns for this idea are Verwendung (use, application) and Gebrauch (use, utilization).

In practice, Verwendens is most often encountered in historical, legal, or stylistic contexts where older orthography or formal register allows variants of nominalized verbs. The form is sometimes described as an archaic or formal variant of Verwendung, reflecting how the infinitive verwenden can yield different noun forms in historical language usage. In phrases such as "das Verwendens von Materialien," it can be interpreted to mean "the use of materials," although this usage is nonstandard today and can be considered stylistically marked.
