Vergrößerungsmaß
Vergrößerungsmaß, often translated as magnification factor or scale, is a dimensionless quantity used to describe the ratio between the size of an image and the size of the original object. It is a fundamental concept in optics, microscopy, photography, and various fields of engineering and science where the manipulation of size is crucial. The Vergrößerungsmaß is calculated by dividing the linear dimension of the image by the corresponding linear dimension of the object. For instance, if an object is 1 millimeter long and its image appears to be 10 millimeters long, the Vergrößerungsmaß is 10.
A Vergrößerungsmaß greater than 1 indicates that the image is larger than the object, signifying an enlargement.
