Veresoon is a fictional town and municipality in the northern basin of the River Char, in the fantasy realm of Ardentia. It serves as the administrative center of Northshire County and is known for its riverside markets.

The name Veresoon comes from the Ardentian words vere, river, and soon, settlement. The etymology is traditional within local chronicles.

Located on a high terrace above the River Char, the town has a mild temperate climate with wet winters. The surrounding landscape includes riparian forests and basalt bluffs.

Founded circa 1150 by the House of Coralyn, Veresoon grew as a river trade hub. It endured a major fire in 1620 and rebuilt; during the 18th century it gained a town charter.

The economy blends agriculture (grain, apples) with crafts and small-scale industry. A micro-hydroelectric facility on the Char provides power to the town. The Veresoon Bridge is a key transport link.
