Vereloomehäirete, or hematological disorders, encompass a wide range of conditions that affect the blood and blood-forming organs. These disorders can impact the production, function, or number of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, as well as plasma proteins. Causes can be congenital, acquired, or idiopathic.

Common types of vereloomehäirete include anemias, which are characterized by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin, leading to reduced oxygen transport. Leukemias and lymphomas are cancers of the white blood cells, affecting the immune system. Bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia and thrombocytopenia, arise from problems with platelet function or number, impairing the blood's ability to clot. Myelodysplastic syndromes involve the bone marrow's inability to produce healthy blood cells.

Symptoms of vereloomehäirete vary widely depending on the specific disorder and can include fatigue, paleness, easy bruising or bleeding, frequent infections, and enlarged lymph nodes or spleen.
