Verdunstetes is a German term that translates to "evaporated" in English. It refers to the process by which a liquid changes into a gas or vapor. This transformation occurs when molecules within the liquid gain enough kinetic energy to overcome the intermolecular forces holding them together, allowing them to escape into the surrounding atmosphere. The rate of evaporation is influenced by several factors, including temperature, surface area, air movement, and the humidity of the environment. For instance, increasing the temperature provides more energy to the molecules, thus speeding up evaporation. A larger surface area exposes more molecules to the air, facilitating their escape. Wind or air currents remove the vapor from the surface, preventing it from re-condensing and encouraging further evaporation.
