Verdicht

Verdicht is a term used in Germanic languages to indicate densification or condensation. In Dutch, verdicht is the past participle of verdichten and translates as "densified" or "condensed." In German, the verb verdichten means to densify, to compact, or to condense; the standard past participle is verdichtet. The form verdicht appears mainly as a stem in compounds and technical terms, where it denotes the concept of densification, for example Verdichtungsgrad (degree of densification) or Verdichtungsverfahren (densification process). The bare form can also occur in adjectival phrases, such as verdichtete Luft (dense air).
