Ventilatorid

Ventilatorid, a term of Estonian origin, refers to mechanical devices designed to assist or control breathing. These machines are crucial in medical settings, particularly in intensive care units, where patients may be unable to breathe adequately on their own due to illness, injury, or surgery. Ventilators deliver air, often enriched with oxygen, into the lungs and then allow for the exhalation of carbon dioxide.

There are various types of ventilators, differing in their mode of operation and the level of support they provide. Some are pressure-controlled, delivering a set pressure to the airways, while others are volume-controlled, delivering a specific volume of air.
