Venerem

Venerem is a fictional terrestrial exoplanet that appears in several science fiction works and educational speculative exercises. The name is chosen for its phonetic similarity to Venus and to evoke themes of exploration and reverence that recur in those narratives.

In the best-known depictions, Venerem orbits a Sun-like star at about 0.9 astronomical units, producing a year of roughly 320 days. It has a radius near 1.2 Earth radii and a mass around 1.5 Earth masses, yielding a density close to Earth. The atmosphere is described as nitrogen-oxygen with trace carbon dioxide, supporting a mild climate with temperate oceans. The surface is commonly depicted as partially oceanic with continents and active plate tectonics.

Discovery and exploration are described through in-universe observations. Telescopes detect transits and radial-velocity signals, and a fictional space probe, such as Lumen-3, conducts remote sensing and proposed sample-return missions. While no real data exists outside the stories, these elements are used to examine how planetary science might proceed in resource-limited settings.

Cultural and scientific significance: Venerem is used to explore habitability criteria, climate stability, and the ethics of early colonization. Authors contrast its potentially temperate climate with scenarios of atmospheric loss or runaway greenhouse effects to examine planetary stewardship.
