Vektorisuuden

Vektorisuuden is a vector graphics display language that emerged in the 1970s. It was primarily used by broadcast graphics and industrial control systems. A standard specification for the language was never established, but a widely accepted programming syntax and set of commands evolved over time.

Characteristics of vektorisuuden include the use of vectors to describe shapes and graphics, allowing for high-quality rendering of complex designs. It also supported programming operations to create animations and interactive effects. Vektarisuuden was often used as a means of generating graphics that could then be directly displayed on output devices without the need for further processing.

Vektorisuuden gained popularity in specific industries and technical communities, despite never becoming a widely adopted standard. Its use and influence peaked during the 1980s. By the 1990s, the rise of other technologies, such as windowing systems with high-level graphics libraries like Motif or Microsoft Windows on PCs, led to decline of vektorisuuden.

Workstations and engineering graphics systems caused computers with adequate processing power and storage became affordable and practical for using vektorisuuden. By the end of the 1990s, vektorisuuden had largely been replaced by lower-level graphics languages like OpenGL or more high-level languages and programming environments. As a result, its specification, examples and programs were fused into historical curiosity and exemplar of a now-obsolete technology.
