Vedang
Vedang is a term used in Sanskrit and Indian-language contexts with multiple meanings. In traditional and religious literature, Vedang is an alternate transliteration of Vedanga, a word that refers to a group of auxiliary disciplines that accompany the Vedas. These disciplines were developed to aid in the correct understanding, transmission, and application of Vedic texts.
The classical Vedangas consist of six subjects. Shiksha covers phonetics and pronunciation to ensure accurate recitation.
