Vastaainojen, commonly written as vasta-aineet (antibodies), are proteins produced primarily by plasma cells that differentiate from B lymphocytes. They are a central component of the adaptive immune system and recognize specific antigens, such as proteins on pathogens, toxins, or abnormal cells.
