Varshavyanka
Varshavyanka is the common name for the Polish revolutionary song "Warszawianka 1905 roku" (Warsawianka of 1905). The music was composed by Józef Pławiński and the lyrics were written by Wacław Święcicki in 1879. The song became widely popular among Polish workers and socialists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The original lyrics were written by Święcicki while imprisoned in the Warsaw Citadel by the Russian authorities.
