Varedeklarationen, often translated as "product declaration" or "declaration of conformity," is a legally mandated document in many jurisdictions, particularly within the European Union. It serves as a crucial statement by the manufacturer or their authorized representative that a product complies with all relevant European directives and regulations applicable to that product.

The primary purpose of the varedeklarationen is to ensure consumer safety and market access. By issuing this declaration, the manufacturer takes responsibility for the product's conformity to essential health, safety, and environmental protection requirements. It is a cornerstone of the CE marking process, which signifies that a product has been assessed and meets EU standards.

The content of a varedeklarationen typically includes the name and address of the manufacturer, a description of the product, the directives and standards the product conforms to, and the signature of the responsible person. It must be made available to market surveillance authorities upon request and, in some cases, must accompany the product.
