Vandelementer

Vandelementer, often translated as "water elements," is a concept that appears in various philosophical and spiritual traditions, particularly in ancient Greek thought and some forms of Eastern philosophy. It is not a scientific term in the modern sense, but rather refers to one of the fundamental building blocks or principles believed to constitute the universe.

In ancient Greek philosophy, particularly with Empedocles, water was considered one of the four classical elements alongside earth, air, and fire. These elements were thought to be the basic substances from which all matter was derived. Water was often associated with qualities such as fluidity, adaptability, coolness, and the feminine principle. Its presence was seen as essential for life, representing nourishment and the ebb and flow of existence.
