Valódilegyek

Valódilegyek is the Hungarian common name for a family of insects belonging to the order Diptera, commonly known as true flies. These insects are characterized by having only one pair of functional wings, with the hind wings reduced to small, knob-like structures called halteres. These halteres play a crucial role in balance during flight. The name "valódilegyek" literally translates to "true flies" in English, distinguishing them from other flying insects like bees, wasps, or dragonflies which are not dipterans.
