Valveskaamerad

Valveskaamerad, often translated as "valve cameras" or "valve scopes," refers to a specific type of inspection device historically used in the early days of industrial radiography. These devices were designed to allow visual inspection of the internal workings of valves, particularly in critical applications like boilers and pipelines, without needing to dismantle them. The primary technology involved a small mirror or lens system housed within a tube, which could be inserted into the valve through a small opening. A light source, typically a focused beam, would illuminate the interior, and the observer would look through the other end of the tube or a connected eyepiece to see the internal components.

The development of valveskaamerad was driven by the need for efficient and non-destructive methods to assess the condition of valves. Before their advent, inspecting valve internals often required significant downtime and labor for disassembly and reassembly. These early visual inspection tools provided a crucial advantage in detecting wear, corrosion, obstructions, or proper seating of valve components.
