Valitsejast

Valitsejast is not a standard Finnish word and does not appear in major language dictionaries. It is likely a misspelling or a nonstandard variant of other related terms. The form also does not follow typical Finnish inflection patterns, where the agent noun from valita would normally be valitseja or, in some contexts, valitsija.

In Finnish, the common nouns for someone who selects or elects are valitseja and valitsija. Valitseja is a general “selector” or “chooser,” while valitsija is more commonly used in political or historical contexts to mean an elector—someone who has the right to choose or to elect in a given system. The word äänestäjä refers to a voter—the person who casts a ballot in an election—distinct from the actor who makes the choice in a constitutional or organizational sense.

If valitsejast appears in a text, it should be interpreted from context. It is not a recognized standard form, and its intended meaning could be an accidental misspelling of valitseja or valitsija, or a nonstandard loanword from another language. When clarity is required, prefer valitseja/valitsija for “selector/elector” and äänestäjä for “voter.”
