Valguslaineid, commonly referred to as light waves, are a fundamental aspect of the electromagnetic spectrum. They are disturbances in the electromagnetic field that propagate through space at the speed of light. This propagation occurs as oscillating electric and magnetic fields, perpendicular to each other and to the direction of travel.
