Vaihtohtoarvo
Vaihtohtoarvo, often translated as exchange value, is a fundamental concept in economics, particularly within Marxist theory. It refers to the quantitative relationship between commodities, indicating how much of one commodity can be exchanged for a given amount of another. This value is distinct from use value, which refers to the utility or practical function of a commodity. While a commodity has a use value for its owner, its exchange value is realized only when it is traded for another commodity.
