VNArts

VNArts is a non-profit organization and online platform dedicated to the promotion, study, and documentation of Vietnamese visual arts. It supports traditional, modern, and contemporary practices and aims to connect artists with audiences, institutions, and educators. Based in Hanoi, VNArts operates across Vietnam through exhibitions, education programs, residencies, and digital initiatives.

The organization was founded in 2014 by a coalition of artists, curators, and scholars who identified gaps in professional development, curatorial training, and public access to Vietnamese art. Since its inception, VNArts has developed a network of partner museums, universities, galleries, and community centers to broaden opportunities for artists and to foster critical discourse about Vietnamese art and its global contexts.

Programs and activities include curatorial exhibitions, artist-in-residence programs, grant opportunities, and public workshops aimed at students, educators, and community groups. VNArts also publishes catalogues and essays to accompany exhibitions and to contribute to scholarly writing on Vietnamese art. A key component is its digital platform, which features an online gallery, artist profiles, and a searchable archive of Vietnamese artworks from the late 20th century to the present.

Governance is provided by a board of directors and a program leadership team, with funding from grants, donations, sponsorships, and sponsorships of specific projects. VNArts emphasizes collaboration with national and international partners to advance access, research, and dialogue in Vietnamese art. It is active in documenting cultural heritage while supporting contemporary artistic practice.
