Uunilaatikko is a traditional Finnish layered casserole, often prepared for special occasions and holidays, particularly Christmas. Its name translates directly to "oven box" or "oven casserole," reflecting its preparation method. The dish typically consists of layers of cooked rice, ground meat, and sometimes grated root vegetables like carrots or potatoes, bound together with a savory egg and milk mixture.

The preparation involves parboiling rice until almost tender and browning ground meat seasoned with onion, salt, and pepper.
