Urukhai

Uruk-hai are a breed of orcs in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. They were created by Saruman the White at Isengard during the late Third Age, through selective breeding that mixed orcs with men. Their purpose was to yield a taller, stronger, more intelligent and better-disciplined fighting force capable of operating in daylight and across longer campaigns.

In film adaptations, the Uruk-hai are often led by named captains, with Lurtz being a prominent example in The Fellowship of the Ring, a character not present in Tolkien’s original books.
